"Color Mixing"

Based on Color Dance

Materials:
Watercolor set, water, 4 clear containers for water (clear drinking cups, glasses or jars), brushes, paper, scissors and glue

Instructions:
Fill 4 containers with water. Dip the brush into the water and gently brush the blue in the watercolor set. Get enough paint on your brush so that when you wash it off in the water, it turns the water blue. Rinse brush off in the 4th container. Repeat process with red and yellow. You now have 3 containers of colored water: one blue, one red, one yellow. Rinse brush well and gently brush red in the paint set. Put your brush into one of the containers of colored water. What color did you make?

Primary Colors are the colors we use to create all the other colors. The Primary colors are blue, red and yellow. Secondary Colors are the colors made by mixing the Primary Colors. The Secondary Colors are green, orange and purple. Red + Blue= Purple, Red + Yellow = Orange, Blue +Yellow = Green.

After mixing colors, you can paint with your watercolor set. Paint a landscape with trees, hill and flowers, or paint a picture of your family. Use your imagination and remember: Always clean up after you finish being an artist!
