We encourage children to spend time in our art studio putting their creative brains to work! NCCIL Art Camps are a premium educational experience for budding artists of all ages. Art supplies and daily snacks are included.

Camp Caldecott
Age: 5-9 years

A camp as unique as the NCCIL and its artists! So what makes the camp and the NCCIL unique? Did you know the NCCIL was the 1st museum of its kind in the country? Let NCCIL Art Educator Robynn take you onto the journey of childhood’s best adventures: the Picture Books. Learn and experiment with different illustration styles in the NCCIL Art Studio. Paint your world with watercolor, decorate it with collages, and fill your world with caricatures! Camp out at Camp Caldecott!

Did you always want to learn to draw? What are the Elements of Art and Principles of Design? Do artists really think about these terms when they make their art? Have fun with charcoal, pastels, watercolors and more while you learn to appreciate the art of these old masters.
Earth Kind Tones: Art and Nature

Calling all nature and environment lovers to explore their creativity and gentler side! The NCCIL along with AgriLife Extension Services join to bring literature, art and nature together in this exciting NCCIL camp. Learn and explore nature with the works of NCCIL artists while learning what it takes to be a Junior Master Gardener. Plus students will be certified as Junior Master Gardeners in Literature at the end of the camp!
