Camp 1: Camp Caldecott

A camp as unique as the NCCIL and its artists! So what makes the camp and the NCCIL unique? Did you know the NCCIL was the 1st museum of its kind in the country? Let NCCIL Art Educator Robynn take you onto the journey of childhood’s best adventures: the Picture Books. Learn and experiment with different illustration styles in the NCCIL Art Studio. Paint your world with watercolor, decorate it with collages, and fill your world with caricatures! Camp out at Camp Caldecott!

Camp 2: Picasso-O-Rama, Sr.
Age: Grades Entering 2nd, 3rd, and 4th

Oh! Leonardo and Pablo come see Jackson splattering paint in the studio where Giuseppe is busy with his fruits and vegetables! Come explore the world of Old Master Artists at the NCCIL Art Studio. Did you always want to learn to draw? What are the Elements of Art and Principles of Design? Do artists really think about these terms when they make their art? Have fun with charcoal, pastels, watercolors and more while you learn to appreciate the art of these old masters.

Camp 3: EarthKInd Tones: Art and Nature
Age: 9-12 years
When: July 19- July 23
Time: 8:30-12:30

Calling all nature and environment lovers to explore their creativity and gentler side! The NCCIL along with AgriLife Extension Services join to bring literature, art and nature together in this exciting NCCIL camp. Learn and explore nature with the works of NCCIL artists while learning what it takes to be a Junior Master Gardener. Plus students will be certified as Junior Master Gardeners in Literature at the end of the camp.

Age: Entering Grades Kindergarten and 1st
